Hen Party Accessories from HenStuff

We're all familiar with the traditional hen and stag do's; the girls usually head to a relaxing spa retreat, whilst the lads usually booze it up in Eastern Europe, but those days are in the past as couples are now choosing to have a joint stag and hen party instead, known as Sten or Hag do's. Many couples share a similar circle of friends and choosing to share your celebrations together is a great way to get all your friends in one place for one big bash before the wedding.
With Sten and Hag do's increasing in popularity, we feel it's the perfect chance to share with you some great activities that'll be fun for both the hens and the stags! So here are our top activities for a joint stag and hen do:

Pub Treasure Hunt

It's the battle of the sexes, to see which party can solve all the questions and challenges, and become the ultimate treasure hunting champions! This activity combines the fun of a pub crawl, with the problem solving of a treasure hunt - the perfect combination if you ask us. You will be set with a bunch of challenges and puzzles, which you must solve, in order to move on to the next location/pub. To ensure your brain is working to its full capacity, it's important you stay hydrated, so we suggest having a drink or two and each pub. This will ensure you're switched on to tackle any challenge that is placed in front of you! This truly is the perfect activity to have on your sten or hag do and is guaranteed to get you in the competitive spirit and get the drinks flowing!

Inflatable Games

A little inflatable madness is perfect for a Sten and Hag do! Split into two teams, whether you decide to do hens vs stags or split the teams evenly, you're guaranteed to have plenty of fun! Each team will be awarded points for completing an obstacle and at the end of the day the winning team will receive some cool prizes. You'll need teamwork, a never say die attitude and a little competitive streak but don't worry, from start to finish, you're going to have fun and like your parents always said: "it's the taking part that counts!". To make it even more hilarious, why not bring along your very own embarrassingly shaped inflatable too...

Escape Games

If you enjoy puzzles and challenges, this activity is for you! Split your sten or hag do into two teams and try and solve all the puzzles, codes, and riddles in 60 minutes. If you don't manage to beat the time, you may have to stay in the room forever! This activity is the perfect chance to see who out of the hen or stags are the ultimate problem-solving champions and complete the Escape Game. If you'd prefer to play party games at home instead, why not take a look at our Party Games instead!

Paintballing

Paintballing is the perfect activity for a Sten or Hag do. It's the ideal way to relieve any pre-wedding tension! If the best man is planning to embarrass you in his speech or the mother-in-law is messing with your plans, spray them with some paintballs, we promise you it'll make you feel better. Of course, paintballing isn't all about getting payback, it's a great way for you all to bond and it's a great, fun, outdoor activity. If you're looking for a day out filled with laughs, then paintballing is perfect for you!

Booze Cruise

Start your Sten or Hag do off in style with a booze cruise! Get ready for a fun journey on the ocean, filled with drinks, plenty of dancing and fun activities! It's far more different and exciting than you're regular land-based bars. Take in the stunning scenery and the sea breeze, as you party under the stars aboard this party vessel. It's the perfect way to end your hag do with all your favourite guys and gals! For some boozy accessories to take with you, take a look at our drinking accessories

surprise hen party

“No, I don’t want a hen party” says the bride-to-be for at least the third time this week...

But there’s no need to fear, don’t cancel your spa-day plans or throw away that stripper’s number the woman in work recommended. Your hopes needn’t be dashed because of your reluctant bride, half the fun of a party is if it’s a surprise, right?

Even if the bride has decided against letting you have free reign on organising a big send off from singlehood you can still celebrate, there are just some things to consider when deciding if you should throw her a surprise party:

Be respectful of the bride!
Let’s be real, she’d already said no and you might be clinging on to the dream of some middle age policeman-dressed stripper giving your best mate a lap dance to really embarrass her, but is it the right move? You’re her hens for a reason, you know her best! Make sure this party is for her, not just the bridesmaids! If she’d rather go clubbing than afternoon tea do that, if vice versa – well, you get the point. If you're planning a surprise hen party for yourself then you shouldn't do it!

Get some help!
To throw a really good surprise party, you’re going to need someone on the inside to help you out. Asking the bride’s fiancé or mum is always a good plan, most importantly, they can advise you on if it's a good idea. They can also make sure she’s free for the party you plan, and help to get the guest list perfect! They can also help you get her there without tipping her off!

Come party prepped!
If you're gonna do it, don't give the bride time to worry about anything. Whatever you’ve planned you can have a little fun with party gifts and accessories. No matter how classy the bride is, no one can resist some novelty fun at a hen party. Why not put together some gift bags for the guests full of our Hen Do essentials? Make sure the bride stands out from the crowd though – it’s all about her!

You want the bride-to-be to be thrilled that you threw her a surprise hen party to remember – keep it fun and keep it secret, and have a fabulous time celebrating with your best friends. If you really are organising a surprise hen to make the bride-to-be happy, and you follow our advice above, you should be golden!

Hen Party Daytime Activities

When you think of a Hen party, you may have dreams of doing shots in the nightclub or being surrounded by male strippers, but have you considered a fun daytime activity? Here are our top ideas for Hen Party daytime activities, so get the girls together and go have a good time!

Spa Day

Spa Day

You already know about this one, why? Because we all love a day pampering ourselves! With all the stress of planning a wedding a spa day is a welcome change from all the hysteria. Get the girls glowing with a day of facials and massages. A spa day is also a great hen party daytime activity after a wild hen night out!

Festivals

With festival season in full swing we couldn’t leave this one off the list! Get some booze, put on your flower crowns and listen to some awesome bands! A lot of festivals have day tickets available too, so if camping isn’t your thing or you don’t want to commit to a full weekend then you can just have an amazing day rocking out!

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea

If novelty phallic accessories and ‘L plates’ aren’t for the bride-to-be, afternoon tea is a lovely hen party daytime activity. Not to mention, it’s something you won’t cringe about bringing your mother to! Lots of hotels offer this as a package so read some reviews of the local favourites and get the ‘Downton Abbey’ vibes started.

Assault Course

Assault Course

Is the bride-to-be a fitness nut? An assault course is the perfect competitive hen party daytime activity. Even if she’s not really that into fitness (and let's be honest, not many of us are) an assault course can be a hilarious place for a hen party! There are tons of options from mud runs to high-ropes course so decide how daring you are and get your adrenaline running.

If you need any Hen Party essentials then make sure you check out our products - some naughty and some not, we have decorations and sashes to get your Hen Party swinging whether it's in the day or the night!

As we’re sure most brides or brides-to-be know by now, the stress of planning a wedding can certainly take its toll. It’s no wonder a relaxing and romantic honeymoon is desperately sought after once the wedding has finished! However, the honeymoon of your dreams may cause a strain on the bank account and so we’ve put together a nifty little list of some of the more budget-friendly honeymoon destinations for you.

Portugal

Portugal

Portugal is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people. It’s also a place where near enough all of the gorgeous coastline faces west, meaning the sun always sets behind the sea. Ideal for Instagram pictures, right? Considering there’s also plenty to do, such as the costa Vincentina nation park, the Fado bars in Alfarma and the stunning landscape of Azores, a romantic get-away to Portugal will only set you back around £72 per day. Not bad for a perfect honeymoon destination!

Palma de Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca

If sun, sea and sand are all you’re looking for on your honeymoon, then Palma de Mallorca should be in your prime list of candidates. As the capital of the Spanish Island, Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca is home to plenty of landmarks such as Gothic cathedrals and fortresses, which you can visit if you’re looking for a bit of history alongside relaxing. The purely charming nature of this gorgeous honeymoon destination should be enough to entice you, alongside the fact it will only set you back an average of £69 per day.

Santorini

Santorini

You’d be fibbing if you said that the scenic destination of Santorini is not on your bucket list. Perhaps the most spectacularly stunning island in Greece, Santorini is known for its picturesque setting and outstanding sunsets. This honeymoon destination is ideal if you want to have a peaceful honeymoon, with the option of becoming explorers for the day. The honeymoon of your dreams isn’t too far out of reach either with the average daily cost only amounting to £86 per day. Surprised? Us too!

Amsterdam

If you’re looking for a city-break budget honey moon, then what could be better than the wonderful Amsterdam? A bit like Venice, with the gorgeous canals and abundance of historical architecture, but for a fraction of the cost. Amsterdam is much cheaper in the winter and just as wonderful – so that’s something to keep in mind for those with a winter wedding. A trip to this lovely city will set you back around £104 per day, but as city breaks are naturally shorter this can still fit in your budget!

Ireland
Ireland

For those who are looking for a historically rich and a game-of-thrones style budget honey moon (without the red wedding, we hope!) Ireland is definitely a place to take note of. Travelling to Northern Island, you join in the tours and visit the fantastic locations of Winterfell Castle and Kingsroad, alongside enjoying a medieval banquet on or a themed afternoon tea. Ireland is known for its welcoming nature and you might just gain yourselves a few life-long friends as you bond over a hearty bowl of Irish Stew next to a roaring fire. If this sounds like your cup of tea, a trip to Ireland will set you back just £84 per day on average.

Hopefully, this list will be enough to get you packing your bags and jetting off on the budget honeymoon of a life time. Have a fantastic break!
